Some more Adverbs<\/h3>\n

\nYou can also express days of the week and few other nouns that are related to time as adverbs. You simply add the letter s<\/span><\/strong> to the end of the noun.<\/p>\n

\ndienstags<\/span><\/strong> \u21e8 on Tuesdays
\nmorgens<\/span><\/strong> \u21e8 in the morning
\nmittags<\/span><\/strong> \u21e8 at noon
\nnachmittags<\/span><\/strong> \u21e8 in the afternoon
\nabends<\/span><\/strong> \u21e8 in the evening<\/p>\n

Example sentences:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ich arbeite abends<\/span><\/strong>. \u21e8 I work in the evening.
\nEr spielt nachmittags<\/span><\/strong> oft Golf. \u21e8 He often plays golf in the afternoon.
\nIch spiele mittwochs<\/span><\/strong> Fu\u00dfball. \u21e8 I play football on Wednesdays.<\/p>\n

Word Order with Adverbs<\/h3>\n

\nIn English, adverbs can appear in different places within a sentence.<\/p>\n

For example:<\/strong>
\nTomorrow<\/strong> is my birthday.
\nMy birthday is tomorrow<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

That’s the same in German.<\/p>\n

  • Adverbs of time can be placed at the beginning of the sentence.<\/li>\n

    \nMorgen<\/span><\/strong> spielen wir Fu\u00dfball. \u21e8 We’ll play football tomorrow.<\/p>\n

  • But this is not fixed.<\/li>\n
