But what about strong German Verbs?<\/p>\n<p>The most common ending for strong verbs is the same as the weak verbs <strong>-en <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s look at a few verbs to illustrate this:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>schlafen <\/strong>(to sleep)<strong> \u2013 schlaf <\/strong>(stem)      \u2013 <strong>en <\/strong>(ending)<\/li>\n<li><strong>helfen <\/strong>(to help)<strong> \u2013 helf <\/strong>(stem)      \u2013 <strong>en <\/strong>(ending)<\/li>\n<li><strong>sehen <\/strong>(to see) \u2013 <strong>seh <\/strong>(stem) \u2013 <strong>en <\/strong>(ending)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the present tense, most strong verbs are formed using the same endings that are used for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jabbalab.com\/blog\/880\/how-german-verbs-work-in-the-present-tense-part-1\">weak verbs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The endings you use for each pronoun in the present tense are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ich \u2013 <strong>e<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>du \u2013 <strong>st<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>er\/sie\/es \u2013 <strong>t<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>wir \u2013 <strong>en<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>ihr \u2013 <strong>t<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>sie \u2013 <strong>en<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Sie \u2013 <strong>en<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The difference between strong verbs and weak verbs is that the vowels in stems of most strong verbs change for the <strong><em>du<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>er\/sie\/es<\/em><\/strong> forms.
