A prefix is an additional word such as <strong>an<\/strong> (on, to, by) or <strong>ein<\/strong> (on) which is added to the beginning of a verb to change its meaning. <\/p>\n<p>For example: <strong>anschauen, einkaufen, umziehen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An inseparable verb follows the same pattern.
